Columbia Restaurants launches partnership with MW Yiannis Karakasis

Columbia Restaurants is proud to announce the collaboration with the wine specialist Yiannis Karakasis, one of only 400 accredited Masters of Wine (MW) in the world.
Yiannis Karakasis will be taking over the wine program of all Columbia Restaurants brands, namely Columbia Sun, Columbia Beach, Henry’s and Columbia Steak House.
Known in the industry for his passion for promoting quality wine, Karakasis will be curating the wine menu for all restaurants, establishing partnerships with premium suppliers and organizing wine events, elevating the level of wine expertise on the island. Karakasis specializes in Greek wine brands and advancing the culture of Greek wine to the world.
As a Master of Wine, a prestigious accreditation marking one as a leading expert on wines, Yiannis Karakasis writes, consults and educates people on his beloved subject.
Passionate about his heritage and with intimate knowledge of Greek vineyards, Karakasis has authored two books on Greek wines: “The Vineyards and Wines of Greece” and the critically acclaimed “The Wines of Santorini”, which was considered for the prestigious Andre Simon Awards.
Karakasis is also no stranger to Cyprus, as in 2019 he established the First Growth Wine School, a WSET APP in Limassol and founded 50 Great Greek Wines, a game-changing platform for promoting Greek wines.
