SCOPE OF JOB

As a pastry cook, you will liaise with the executive chef and other chefs. Your duties will include overseeing the baking of pastries for confectionary displays, scheduled events, and special requests.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consulting with the executive chef and other chefs.
  • Executing pastry orders for catered events and accommodating special requests.
  • Demonstrating skill in baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets, and pies.
  • Creating enticing confectionery decorations and delicious pastry fillings, as well as keeping abreast of new pastry baking techniques.
  • Adding novel, creative, and delicious pastry items to the existing selection.
  • Monitoring equipment and ensuring all specialized pastry baking tools are working in order.
  • Maintaining the good running order of specialized pastry baking equipment.
  • Preparing pastry dishes according to Company guidelines and standards
  • Coordinating and ensure that all pastries, deserts and cakes are ready for service timely
  • Controlling costs and keep himself informed regularly about stock levels and stock movements
  • Implementing company policy and procedures and health and safety codes.
  • Implementing food safety policies, procedures and standards of practice, as per the HACCP manual.

REQIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts

 

Level of Experience

  • Previous experience in the same or similar position
  • Previous food handling experience

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Greek or English language
  • Excellent food handling skills
  • Knowledge of various pastry procedures and methods
  • Good planning, organizational and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of hygiene, health & safety and licensing regulations
