Assistant Restaurant Manager

Reporting to: Restaurant Manager


The main purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of the restaurant, ensuring that all company standards and budgetary requirements are achieved.



Reporting to the area Restaurant Manager, the jobholder is directly responsible for the smooth running of their restaurant operation. The jobholder will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to effectively manage a team to ensure that customer expectations are fulfilled. As well as working closely with their team and Restaurant Manager they will need to build good relationships with local suppliers, regular customers, schools, charities and businesses within the local community and the team at Restaurant Support.

The individual will be commercially astute, optimising profitability without compromising standards. They will be expected to be a “role model” and have the ability to lead, inspire and develop the team to achieve the highest possible standards and results.



  • Ensure all company procedures are adhered to with regards to: health & safety, hygiene, licensing
  • Manage and oversee the food quality from the kitchen to ensure standards are met.
  • Ensure all security procedures are adhered to within the area of cash handling, stock control and the premises
  • Build a rapport with customers whilst on duty to obtain feedback on the restaurant performance
  • Lead, manage, develop and motivate team to achieve highest possible standards
  • Maximise restaurant sales and control labour, food, and other variable costs
  • Prepare monthly projections and produce weekly/monthly accounts and reports

Level of Experience

  • Previous management experience, ideally in hospitality
